Mr. “Pac man” Gillen has been closely tied to Wallace. Many people assume the PAC he formed to hi-jack the Lincoln Day Dinner from the County Party (and it’s proceeds) was aimed at making sure support continued to go Wallace’s way.
It will be interesting to see if Gillen still wants to hitch his star to that wagon now. Then again, birds of a feather tend to flock together.

Last time I checked, in this country you were innocent until proven guilty (remember how y’all squealed that about Mr. DeLay?). I’ll believe it when I see the end result of the lawsuit. These things always have a way of disappearing after a while.

A few months ago Will was vocally touting Wallace, now it seems he has the same opinion as some of those involved with Dave in past business ventures.

Lot of good it did us to squeal, he(Tom DeLay) was still convicted by the press and the court of public opinion. I just hope truth prevails.

Oh how things have seemed to change. First the Gillen Pac saga hurt the party, now David and Will are sparring at each other. Well so much for David’s political career, Perry (whom I despise) will probably dash all of Wallace’s future hopes with those deep pockets and future contributions.
Did Perry contribute to Vacek’s campaign bid? I think Vacek will do the right thing, but it could lead to problems if he did.
Well, if any criminal charges come out of it, will Healey have to step aside? Perry was one of his biggest contributers.
The back door business is finally coming to the front and each week is a new political saga.

Yes, Will is Bob Perry’s son. So, given Bob Perry’s status as one of the nation’s top contributors to Republican candidates, and Wallace’s potential interest in running again for Congressional District 22, it’s conceivable the lawsuit may have political implications, and I've updated the above story to reflect that information.

It’s funny how wallace’s past didn’t seem to matter to the perrys when they were in biz together (only after they felt the sting). Of course I’m not defending the unethical acts of either and will be front row if this ever makes it to a fbc republican insider controlled court room (it needs to go out of county to a court that can’t be influenced by either of these well connected people).
I wondered why pappa perry didn’t support wallace over Sekula.
As for the delay comments above, I think we all know who backed him (I think they call them “king makers”). As a repub I don’t support this clique which rules our local party!
This should be good if it ever makes it into a courtroom. I wonder if this county repub party will ever wake up and take control away from these few elites and bring down the monarchy???

The amazing thing is after all the apparent inifighting, lethargy and local scandals on the side of Republicans throughout the past year Republicans still won everything in Fort Bend County last year.
Despit all controversy regarding the Lincoln Day Dinner and all the wonderful program it seems surrounding Democrats event for the Noriegas at Quail Valley Country Club the night before the Lincoln Day Dinner it remains the Lincoln Day Dinner is likely to have still higher attendance.

Can explain the difference between Tom DeLay being “convicted by the press and the court of public opinion” and David Wallace and Gary Gillen being “convicted” by bloggers here and on other local web sites? Why should one be granted the presumption of innocence when others are not?

I predict that if the infighting continues, the local Democrat party will eventually benefit—assuming that they get their own house in order and offer reasonable and qualified candidates as alternatives.

I have not convicted David Wallace or Gary Gillen of anything. Just questions some of his (Gillen) actions as Fort Bend County Republican Chairman. As far as I no there is nothing to convict him of, unless you know more than I do?

This is in keeping with Wallace’s past business practices, as I documented over on my site months ago. It is the reason some of us were so opposed to Wallace’s candidacy during the CD22 circus last year.
Will this particular case go against Wallace? I don’t know, but I would argue that it fits with a pattern of activity that dates back a good 20 years.
